The groom is always over looked when it comes to weddings. People believe that all he has to do is turn up on the day with a suit and moderately sober. Sometimes the bride who has to organize the whole day feels like this too. It is true that
there are not many things that the groom is in charge of when it comes to wedding but he still has a part to play, mainly because it is his wedding day!
Grooms may not appear to be stressed but believe me they are. No groom just turns up on the day, says “I do” and then enjoys the honeymoon. No. The grooms are responsible for several things during the whole wedding organization process. The first thing that he has to do is select his best man. Most men go with their best friend or brother but this can be a hard decision and will not be taken lightly. The groom is also in charge of the honeymoon. This in itself is a very stressful choice. If he gets the wrong location or the wrong hotel then the whole holiday is ruined (he will also be reminded of this at every Christmas, Easter, thanksgiving, birthday, anniversary etc). The final task for the groom is to organize the gifts for the wedding party. This includes the bride’s parents, grooms parents, bridesmaids, best man and ushers. A great gift for the male members of the wedding party could be wedding cufflinks. These ball and chain cufflinks will get anyone giggling and will ease a bit of tension throughout the day. So next time you see a groom arrive to his wedding, remember how stressed he will (think about the cufflinks!) be and give him a pat on the back, he deserves it.
