Her Good Luck Charm
June 11th, 2009
My cousin has always been really talented. You could tell from a young age that she had a gift for singing and music. Whenever she heard a song she could pick up the words so quickly and would immediately be able to recite it back to you. She learned many musical instruments as a child like the piano, guitar and violin, but she continued with the piano long into her 20s.
We were big fans of America’s Got Talent so it was obvious to us that she should go on it. She, on the other hand, was quite hesitant. She didn’t have much self esteem and didn’t think she was any good. It took a lot of persuading to get her to even apply for the show let alone go for the audition. The day came and she auditioned. She had been practicing so much but unfortunately nerves had gotten the better of her. She stumbled through the audition and she didn’t make it to the next round. Even though she was disappointed she knew she could have done better. She vowed to try again next year but this time she said she’d be a bit more confident in her talents.
Even though she didn’t make it through I wanted to get her something as a congratulations gift. She had practiced a lot and it took a lot of courage to stand up there on that stage. I was looking for a pair of cufflinks but I found her a custom photo pendant with a photo of her at her audition. Now when she looks at her custom jewelry it gives her more strength and determination to do better next time. Good luck Cindy!
