Cherished Memories Literally on Your Sleeves

August 14th, 2009

30cf8051g 37115 thumb Cherished Memories Literally on Your SleevesThe value of a locket is a value of adornment. A locket is usually given to and kept by someone who is in love with the idea of keeping memories with pictures. Should a man have to sail for gold in the caves of faraway lands whenever he wants to give a present to the woman he holds dear, as the usual fairytales would narrate.

Probably men of the present generation are luckier since machines of production and reproduction have been advanced to create jewelries that would pass the taste of the consumerists and the profit-oriented industries as well. Since the idea of giving gifts is universal and is not among those ideas that would just deteriorate to extinction through time, it has become the foundation of the subjects in making certain objects in the business industries, to gain profit.

Almost everybody has already submitted and adorn the beauty of a locket and the magic in it. Mothers who bore their only child provide a locket for the first lass, with her photograph on it, at least to give it as a first gift. In fiction, though, a locket is a brilliant tool for a flashback or a memory that a writer intends to show in one part of the story.

Locket has become almost the object of memory, of finding someone lost, of recovering the past. This feature of a locket, perhaps, gave the idea to business industries to commodify such kind of brilliance and magic. Before, only few can afford gold locket cufflinks but now that it has been mass produced, the prices went down.

Cufflinks companies designed a fantastic vermeil 18kt gold over sterling silver engraved locket cufflinks that feature a snap-out frame and clear screen to protect and hold two of most precious photographs to remind someone of cherished finest memories of people dearest to their hearts.

A Son’s First Step into the World

June 19th, 2009

Mothers naturally love taking pictures of their family and friends. They are little reminders of the great times they’ve spent with each other and the fun moments they’ve shared. Who wouldn’t remember a son’s first big presentation at work? They will usually be so nervous and so excited at the same time. For the son, he prepared for his presentation way ahead of time, he practiced his pitch, and he even thought of the clothes he would wear that day. This makes a mom so proud and so happy that her child grew up to be the man that he is now.

30cf1444s 08693 thumb A Sons First Step into the WorldMoms and sons always have a special bond. Mothers have always been a part of all the milestones in his life – his first steps, his first day in school, even the first time he moved out of the house to try to make it on his own. That is why for his first presentation, some moms even wanted to be there to see it. Sadly, her son is now a grown man and watching his presentation will only embarrass him. Most moms would turn to finding something that can represent her when she is not around, such as a pair of sterling silver locket cufflinks. It is a form of an engraved cufflink that allows pictures to be stored on the cufflinks which will make the son feel that his parents are there with him… just to give him that added confidence. Sons will always be thankful that their parents will always be there for him.

The Cufflinks to Commemorate 50 Years

June 8th, 2009

I was so proud of my Mom and Dad when it came to their 50th wedding anniversary. They had stuck it out through the good and the bad and had made it to the big 50!

36l4locket211 69855 thumb The Cufflinks to Commemorate 50 YearsThey met each other at school and it was love at first sight. They were instantly drawn to each other even though they were only in their teens. They were together 5 years before they got married. Soon after they did they had my sister Rose. She was one of 7 kids and poor Rose is the only one who isn’t a twin! My Mom proceeded to pop out three sets of twins, all girls much to my Dad’s dismay. Even though she hadn’t given him the boy he was hoping for we more than made up for it by climbing trees, learning to shoot and doing lots of other tomboy stuff. Soon we were all grown up and had moved out or were off at college. My Dad worked so hard to get us all through college and it really put a strain on their relationship. But he wanted to do right by his kids so we got the best education we could. Soon we were all having kids of our own and my Mom and Dad would regularly have us all (22 of us) round for Sunday lunch. So when it came to celebrate 50 years of their marriage it was something truly special. We clubbed together and bought my Mom a portrait of the whole family and bought my dad some sterling silver square locket cufflinks with both his and Moms picture in it. It took me a while to look through all the engravable cufflinks before I decided on the locket pair. I thought he would want to have her close to him no matter where they were and this cufflinks would do just that.

The Personal Touch

June 5th, 2009

30cf8050s 83577 thumb The Personal TouchI have a silver locket cufflink with a picture of each of my children in it. It is my most treasure possession, it wasn’t expensive but was a gift from a loved one and it holds them all close to me every day. Sounds sentimental and corny to some but if you have lived far from family and just have a few people around you then they become even more vital to your world.

Some people carry pictures in wallets, some just carry them in their hearts but a unique way to carry them is in these locket style engraved cufflinks. This is truly a special gift that is guaranteed to mean the world to the lucky recipient. Or buy them for yourself because only you know what you hold dear. Usually, people will be more careful with their engraved items and consider them more precious. If they are dated then they will be handed down through generations. There is no better gift to give or receive than something that is timeless and will live on after you as a reminder to the world that you were there and you were loved.

These cufflinks can be worn by men or women but since men typically don’t wear lockets, this is a nice way for them to secretly carry their loved ones with them throughout the day. Sometimes a little thing like that will give you strength in a moment of weakness or a minute’s peace during a stressful day. What a lovely find!
