The Exciting Gifts Game

June 9th, 2009

oak006 15259 thumb The Exciting Gifts GameMy boyfriend and I both have our birthdays in June. They are only three days apart so it’s always a competition to see who is going to get the better present. Last year I got a new digital camera and he got a day at the races, I won! The year before I got flying lessons and he got new shoes, he won! So this year I was not going to be outdone. For a month before our birthdays I had started dropping hints, showing him catalogs, asking which item he preferred in magazines and sometimes just asking him outright what he wanted for his birthday. I never got an answer of course. He would always say, “Oh whatever”. This wasn’t because he didn’t know what he wanted but because he wanted to win the game! A week before my birthday he began smiling and smirking a lot. I asked him what was wrong and he said nothing, just that he had bought my present and was convinced he would win this year. So not to be outdone I started looking online. Then I found it. The wristwatch of his dreams! The cool rectangular men’s wristwatch was the elite in men’s wristwatches and I had seen him swooning over it quite a lot. I snapped it up and sure enough I won again. I had been given a beautiful set of crystal champagne flutes and while they were lovely, they didn’t compare to the joy he got out of my present to him! I’m starting to think that I’m getting good that this game! Now if I can just find the cufflinks to match it…

The Cufflinks to Commemorate 50 Years

June 8th, 2009

I was so proud of my Mom and Dad when it came to their 50th wedding anniversary. They had stuck it out through the good and the bad and had made it to the big 50!

36l4locket211 69855 thumb The Cufflinks to Commemorate 50 YearsThey met each other at school and it was love at first sight. They were instantly drawn to each other even though they were only in their teens. They were together 5 years before they got married. Soon after they did they had my sister Rose. She was one of 7 kids and poor Rose is the only one who isn’t a twin! My Mom proceeded to pop out three sets of twins, all girls much to my Dad’s dismay. Even though she hadn’t given him the boy he was hoping for we more than made up for it by climbing trees, learning to shoot and doing lots of other tomboy stuff. Soon we were all grown up and had moved out or were off at college. My Dad worked so hard to get us all through college and it really put a strain on their relationship. But he wanted to do right by his kids so we got the best education we could. Soon we were all having kids of our own and my Mom and Dad would regularly have us all (22 of us) round for Sunday lunch. So when it came to celebrate 50 years of their marriage it was something truly special. We clubbed together and bought my Mom a portrait of the whole family and bought my dad some sterling silver square locket cufflinks with both his and Moms picture in it. It took me a while to look through all the engravable cufflinks before I decided on the locket pair. I thought he would want to have her close to him no matter where they were and this cufflinks would do just that.

How To Color Coordinate Your Husband’s Wardrobe

June 6th, 2009

ct 611 30348 thumb How To Color Coordinate Your Husbands WardrobeMy husband doesn’t like me telling people this. It’s not that he gets embarrassed about his color blindness but he hates telling people because they always automatically say “what color is that then?” and point to something bright red or deep blue. But no matter how well he hides it, it can sometimes hinder him too. If it weren’t for me checking him as he went out the door each morning he would look awful with his brown shoes, navy pants, green shirt and red tie. So when it came time for me to go on holiday I was quite worried about how he would look each day without me giving him a helping hand. I set about organizing his wardrobe and matching his pants and shirts together. But then I had a dilemma. How was I supposed to match the cufflinks and ties? I couldn’t put the cufflinks in the shirts for him because he might lose one. That’s when I came across the 5 sets of cufflinks and ties. It was perfect, one for each day of the week. I put each of the little collector gift set boxes into his pants pocket so he knew where to find them. Sure enough none of his cufflinks got lost and he managed to color coordinate his wardrobe all week. I am so pleased about my organizational skills that I now keep his wardrobe like this all the time. He gets to look smart every day for work and I get a lie in!

The Personal Touch

June 5th, 2009

30cf8050s 83577 thumb The Personal TouchI have a silver locket cufflink with a picture of each of my children in it. It is my most treasure possession, it wasn’t expensive but was a gift from a loved one and it holds them all close to me every day. Sounds sentimental and corny to some but if you have lived far from family and just have a few people around you then they become even more vital to your world.

Some people carry pictures in wallets, some just carry them in their hearts but a unique way to carry them is in these locket style engraved cufflinks. This is truly a special gift that is guaranteed to mean the world to the lucky recipient. Or buy them for yourself because only you know what you hold dear. Usually, people will be more careful with their engraved items and consider them more precious. If they are dated then they will be handed down through generations. There is no better gift to give or receive than something that is timeless and will live on after you as a reminder to the world that you were there and you were loved.

These cufflinks can be worn by men or women but since men typically don’t wear lockets, this is a nice way for them to secretly carry their loved ones with them throughout the day. Sometimes a little thing like that will give you strength in a moment of weakness or a minute’s peace during a stressful day. What a lovely find!

A Collection of Collectibles

June 4th, 2009

We all have our hobbies. Some like to read while others like to collect. If you are a collector then you will know how satisfying it is to see all of your collection in one place.

If you collect stamps then an album is essential. They protect your stamps from damage and can also display them very nicely. It also preserves rare or valuable stamps so that you don’t have to worry about losing them! For the cufflink collectors out there the perfect piece of kit has to be the cufflink box. They range in size so you can fit anything from 8 pairs to 300! For beginners the 20 pair cufflink collector’s case is great and will certainly entice you into adding more to your collection. Collecting things can be a pleasure and it can be really interesting too. Cufflinks for example can come in all shapes and sizes so it is very rare that there are two the same. You can collect from different countries and there is never any rush to finish your collection. Just add to it whenever you want. You’ll be surprised how many pairs you will receive from friends and family, too, once word gets around that you are collecting. Before you know it your collection will have grown and you’ll need a bigger cufflink box to display them all in! Collecting things doesn’t have to cost the earth. Saving up your spare pennies every month and spending them on your collection can be a very satisfying reward to yourself or maybe you just want to buy a pair to treat yourself.

If you are looking to start collecting, look close to home. See what you already have that you can start a collection with (eg. foreign coins) and add to it. It really is that simple.

This gift will hit a high note!

cufflinkspremier 2022 230604935 26257 thumb This gift will hit a high note!Do you know someone who likes to rock and roll? Or maybe you know the laid back cat who likes to keep it low and slow with some smooth jazz or classical tunes? Whatever the tune, these music cufflinks have just the design to suit. From acoustic guitar to grand piano and old 45’s to MP3 they’ve thought of everything.

Of course Elvis makes an appearance in the catalog, show me an accessory that doesn’t have a version with his likeness on it! The fans are there and if you know one, get them the fun Elvis stamp cufflinks, if they have everything else ever made. Otherwise, think about the music fanatics, or budding composers in your midst. It would indeed be a classical gift to have them conducting the orchestra and as their sleeves roll up, a pair of shiny silver treble clefs can be seen by the first string. It shows a lighter side of a sometimes serious genre of music while leaving people in no doubt as to the passions of this person.

The man in my life plays acoustic guitar so I know exactly which cufflinks to get him. I used to be a piano player and still regret giving it up. I can’t think of anyone I know who has no connection to music in any way so evidently it seems fair to say that everyone loves a good tune, and if that’s the case then these cufflinks are sure to be a hit!
