Immortalized Pets

June 26th, 2009

Pets are brilliant. They provide people with love and companionship and expect little in return. But which pet is right for you?

custompendants 85024 thumb Immortalized PetsIf it is your first time choosing a pet then it may be an idea to go for something small and easy to look after. Hamsters, gerbils and mice are often chosen as pets as they do not require walking or grooming. Small rodents need fresh food and water every day, a clean bed to sleep in and a warm environment. That’s about as far as their needs go.

Cats are also quite easy to look after. Because they love their freedom cats will often venture outside all day (or night) and not worry about their poor owners fretting over them. They will come and snuggle up to you when they’re ready and not the other way around! Cats expect food and water several times a day and a warm snuggly place to sleep.

Dogs are more of a time consuming pet. They require walks up to three times a day and feeding at least twice a day. Because dogs vary in size and breed they all require different things. A long haired dog will need grooming daily while an overweight dog may need expensive food. Vets bills are usually quite high with dogs and they are definitely an investment pet.

If you know someone who loves their animals why not get them some custom jewelry as a gift. The custom jewelry lets you put any picture onto (just like putting a name to an engravable cufflink) it so it will be a wonderful keepsake for years to come. Try the custom photo pendant for a loved one and watch their eyes light up as they see their pet immortalized forever.

Happy Holidays!

June 25th, 2009

Backpacking can be an amazing way to see the world. As can taking a cruise. But no matter where you go, it never quite feels like home.

A lot of people back pack around the world when they are taking a year out between school and college. Back packing is a cheap alternative to travel and really allows you to see the countries you visit properly rather than the country they want the tourists to see. Hostels are the main place of accommodation but these are not as bad as they seem. They are basic but they are also full of like- minded students and young adults who are all there for the same reason and that is to sample the cultures of other worlds. Back packing also allows you to create your own itinerary. You can stay in one place for as long or as sort a period as you want. If you are enjoying yourself there is nothing stopping you from staying there and with lots of new friends to meet the chances are you’ll want to stay there permanently.

Cruising is also a wonderful way to view the world. Seeing different countries from the sea to the shore is a beautiful sight and day trips into these wonderful countries will fulfill your need to learn about new cultures. Cruising is a more sophisticated, laid back way to travel and you will be dining in style every night along with entertainment to keep you amused.

House Hunting Hints

June 23rd, 2009

Buying a house is no easy task, especially in this economical climate. It takes a long time and a lot of house searching before you can find the right one. Some people will wonder why they want to move at all. There are many factors that you need to consider when looking for a new house. What is your budget? This may sound like an easy one but actually it is more complex than you think. If you have a budget of $200,000 then it may be wise to look at houses priced up to $220,000. Doing this will mean you get to see more houses and if you do find one you love then you can put in an offer that is in your budget. You never know until you ask.

What area do you want to live in? Some area’s have better schools or are better for work but try to get a feel for these neighborhoods at different times of the day. You can’t tell how much noise a school will produce until you live behind it or if there are gangs living in the area but you will get a good sense if you drive round at different times of the day. The last thing you want is to be moving again in 6 months time sue to neighbors!

cd 410.2 31464 thumb House Hunting HintsWhat do you want from a house? Some people want a house they can do up while others prefer houses that are already finished. A big factor for most people is which way the house is facing. People like to have sun in their back yards all day long so they need to know where north is. A cunning way of doing this is by using a set of novelty cufflinks. A pair of compass cufflinks will show you where north is and you won’t need to ask the real estate agent a thing. These cufflinks are discreet enough so there won’t be any awkward moment between you and the agent.

Good luck with your house hunting!

Don’t Give The Groom Any Grief!

June 22nd, 2009

The groom is always over looked when it comes to weddings. People believe that all he has to do is turn up on the day with a suit and moderately sober. Sometimes the bride who has to organize the whole day feels like this too. It is true that cufflinkspremier 2022 22772546 29711 thumb Dont Give The Groom Any Grief!there are not many things that the groom is in charge of when it comes to wedding but he still has a part to play, mainly because it is his wedding day!

Grooms may not appear to be stressed but believe me they are. No groom just turns up on the day, says “I do” and then enjoys the honeymoon. No. The grooms are responsible for several things during the whole wedding organization process. The first thing that he has to do is select his best man. Most men go with their best friend or brother but this can be a hard decision and will not be taken lightly. The groom is also in charge of the honeymoon. This in itself is a very stressful choice. If he gets the wrong location or the wrong hotel then the whole holiday is ruined (he will also be reminded of this at every Christmas, Easter, thanksgiving, birthday, anniversary etc). The final task for the groom is to organize the gifts for the wedding party. This includes the bride’s parents, grooms parents, bridesmaids, best man and ushers. A great gift for the male members of the wedding party could be wedding cufflinks. These ball and chain cufflinks will get anyone giggling and will ease a bit of tension throughout the day. So next time you see a groom arrive to his wedding, remember how stressed he will (think about the cufflinks!) be and give him a pat on the back, he deserves it.

Express Yourself With Cufflinks

June 20th, 2009

Many people love to paint. Some love to paint in abstracts while some love to paint landscapes, seascapes, the human form and whatever else catch their attention. Oftentimes, people who love to paint are free spirits and they believe that there is no other way to live than to be honest with the way you feel and the way you express yourself through art – in whatever form. Also, they are used to wearing just a simple white shirt and jeans since they’re always painting anyway so it’s not much trouble even if their wardrobes get stained with paint.

But what does a painter do when he gets invited to a gala where he will be honored? These events are usually black tie events. As much as a painter doesn’t want to dress up in fancy clothes, he will have to dress up a bit just so the guards out front would let him enter. This may be a big problem for him. In a way there was a dilemma between expressing his individuality and following the dress code of the event.

cufflinkspremier 2022 318954198 66192 thumb Express Yourself With CufflinksEspecially in these black tie events, it is so easy to get lost in a sea of..well…black coats and ties. To help him still express his hobbies and interests, his individuality and artistry, he can wear the artist palette cufflinks. They are just right for the occasion and it lets him express himself in whatever little way he could. The cufflinks will make him relax a little because he’ll have something familiar to look at.

A Son’s First Step into the World

June 19th, 2009

Mothers naturally love taking pictures of their family and friends. They are little reminders of the great times they’ve spent with each other and the fun moments they’ve shared. Who wouldn’t remember a son’s first big presentation at work? They will usually be so nervous and so excited at the same time. For the son, he prepared for his presentation way ahead of time, he practiced his pitch, and he even thought of the clothes he would wear that day. This makes a mom so proud and so happy that her child grew up to be the man that he is now.

30cf1444s 08693 thumb A Sons First Step into the WorldMoms and sons always have a special bond. Mothers have always been a part of all the milestones in his life – his first steps, his first day in school, even the first time he moved out of the house to try to make it on his own. That is why for his first presentation, some moms even wanted to be there to see it. Sadly, her son is now a grown man and watching his presentation will only embarrass him. Most moms would turn to finding something that can represent her when she is not around, such as a pair of sterling silver locket cufflinks. It is a form of an engraved cufflink that allows pictures to be stored on the cufflinks which will make the son feel that his parents are there with him… just to give him that added confidence. Sons will always be thankful that their parents will always be there for him.

The Long Way is Never the Wrong Way

June 18th, 2009

cs9935l 59669 thumb The Long Way is Never the Wrong WayShort neckties can really throw off any look. The necktie can have the perfect design, the perfect material, the right width; but if does not have the right length, it just ruins everything. Sometimes you can’t quite put your finger on it but it’s just the short necktie that’s not right. We all know that men have different body types. Tall men, in particular, have to check only one thing when it comes to neckties: is it the right length?

Tall men have difficulty finding neckties with the right length. Most neckties in the market are made for average-height men. Manufacturers cannot make them too long because not all men have long torsos or wide necks. That is why extra long ties were made – for those who just need a few more inches… now don’t think about other stuff, I’m talking about neckties here.

This green silk extra long necktie is a great way to complement any business outfit. It goes well with light or dark colored shirts, and with any pair of cufflinks. The color is also very elegant. It can be worn during the day for a formal presentation or even for an after-office night cap at the bar across town. You don’t have to worry about changing neckties or taking it off to create a relaxed look. The narrow white stripes give it the added edge. It gives an illusion of length. The material is silk, and you can never go wrong with a silk tie. Silk is classy no matter what color you make of it.

Neckties Make Men Eye Candies

June 17th, 2009

sb1234s 39062 thumb Neckties Make Men Eye CandiesNeckties, like cufflinks, always finish off a man’s look. A simple shirt could look really classy and elegant when complemented with the perfect necktie. Business fashion can be tricky. But it’s as important as your sales presentation or your first board meeting. Your look is the first thing that people see. For women, that could include make-up, shoes, bags, jewelry. For men, that would be a neat shirt, nice pants, and to top everything off… the perfect necktie.

Neckties say a lot about the person wearing them. The right shirt worn with the wrong necktie could ruin everything. Neckties also show the type of personality a person has. Cartoon neckties say that the person is cool and relaxed and likes to have fun. Wide neckties simply say that the person was left in another era.

This candy cane striped necktie goes well with most light colored shirts. The skinny design, on the other hand, gives it that sleek look that says the man wearing the tie is also fashionable. You really can’t go wrong with red and white. The design is classic because the red and white combination never goes out of style. It’s also eye catching and gives the illusion that the stripes can go on forever. It also gives any business outfit that relaxed look and yet completes the ensemble. The candy cane combination also reminds you of your childhood or of Christmas. Women will simply swoon over this skinny necktie. Now, who wouldn’t want to be thought of as eye candy?

Her Good Luck Charm

June 11th, 2009

My cousin has always been really talented. You could tell from a young age that she had a gift for singing and music. Whenever she heard a song she could pick up the words so quickly and would immediately be able to recite it back to you. She learned many musical instruments as a child like the piano, guitar and violin, but she continued with the piano long into her 20s.

We were big fans of America’s Got Talent so it was obvious to us that she should go on it. She, on the other hand, was quite hesitant. She didn’t have much self esteem and didn’t think she was any good. It took a lot of persuading to get her to even apply for the show let alone go for the audition. The day came and she auditioned. She had been practicing so much but unfortunately nerves had gotten the better of her. She stumbled through the audition and she didn’t make it to the next round. Even though she was disappointed she knew she could have done better. She vowed to try again next year but this time she said she’d be a bit more confident in her talents.

custompendants 85024 thumb Her Good Luck CharmEven though she didn’t make it through I wanted to get her something as a congratulations gift. She had practiced a lot and it took a lot of courage to stand up there on that stage. I was looking for a pair of cufflinks but I found her a custom photo pendant with a photo of her at her audition. Now when she looks at her custom jewelry it gives her more strength and determination to do better next time. Good luck Cindy!

Do Not DIY!

June 10th, 2009

My Dad has never been the best guy at DIY which is why when he announced to the family that he was going to convert the attic into a bedroom we fell to the floor laughing!

armhammer 15011 thumb Do Not DIY!It was a Sunday and Dad had the week off work. He told us all that he had always wanted a games room so he was going to convert the attic into another bedroom so he can have one of the other rooms for his games. Now my Dad is possibly the worst person to DIY. He can’t even put up shelves straight. Anyway, he started the following morning and tinkered and tapped all week long. We weren’t allowed up there till he had finished so we didn’t know what to expect. He kept coming down with more and more bits of wood, which was quite worrying seeing as he hadn’t gone up there with any! Finally come Saturday evening it was done. He had finished and was ready for his grand unveiling Sunday lunchtime. Sunday came and we were all anxious to see what he had been up to up there. One by one we went up into the attic and boy were we in for a shock. The walls had been stripped, the floor was uneven, you could even see into one of the downstairs rooms! The place was an absolute mess! My Mom lovingly but firmly told him that she wouldn’t be putting anyone or anything up into that room until a builder had been round to fix everything. I felt a bit bad for my Dad because he had tried hard so I bought him a little gift. I got him a set of funny cufflinks that were arm and hammer cufflinks. He saw the funny side and now every time he looks at the cufflinks he’s reminded to never DIY again!
